Looks Like Terry Has Brought The Magic To Cleveland
With 36 games under their bats, the Cleveland Indians are standing at 21 & 15. For now, it appears as though Terry Francona and the Cleveland organization are running side by side on the winning track.
We all know that it isn’t the cards you’re dealt, it’s the way that you play them. For the Indians, holding onto tried and true teammates like seasoned catcher Carlos Santana, Justin Masterson, the hard throwing 6’6″ right hander, who seems to have added some lightning to his fast ball this year, solid player Asdrubal Cabrera, and the young bright talent of Michael Brantley in the outfield, has provided a solid foundation for the assorted veterans added to the Indians roster.
Infielder Mark Reynolds has brought a hot bat and hefty contributions with his 11 home runs and 30+ RBI’s so far.
Wild man Nick Swisher has shown confidence and strength at both 1st base and the outfield.
Once the #1 draft choice for the New York Mets, left handed pitcher Scott Kazmir is showing he’s still got some fire in his arm, and designated hitter Jason Giambi has a knack for conjuring up home runs just when their needed.
The Indians may not make it all the way, but they are exciting to watch and they’re doing better than anyone ever imagined, except for maybe terry Francona. Did he know there was some Abracadabra potential in Cleveland? He must have, he didn’t go there for the money.
